Covid– 19 Swab Testing at the CRP Clinic
Available from the 27th July 2020
What is a Covid -19 (SARS-CoV-2) Swab Test?
The outbreak was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020, and has since spread globally, resulting in the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.
Current measures are in place globally to reduce the spread of the virus, such as the requirement by several airlines/borders for a negative swab test in order to travel.
The CRP Clinic can offer this swab test for any individual who is not showing symptoms of coronavirus and who has not been in contact with anyone showing symptoms of coronavirus within 14 days of their test. Further to this, if you have visited any countries not covered by the travel corridor exemption (the countries can be found here) then you must self-isolate for 14 days before visiting our clinic.
- The specificity of the test is 100% that is the ability of the test to correctly identify those without the disease (true negative rate).
- The minimum test sensitivity is 98% that is the ability of a test to correctly identify those with the disease (true positive rate), making our offered test as one of the best available globally.
