Fetal Wellbeing Ultrasound Scans

The third trimester scans are aimed at determining the baby’s well-being by an assessment of growth, fluid around the baby and examination of blood flow in the baby’s blood vessels using Doppler ultrasound. Such scans are typically carried out at around 32-34 weeks but in some high-risk pregnancies, assessments at 28, 32 and 36 weeks may be required.
