Peter & Nicola Elliston

We fell pregnant with our first child on our honeymoon. After 10 weeks I was terrified when I started to bleed and went to hospital. They confirmed our fears but also gave us some amazing news, I had been carrying twins one of which we had lost but the other was fighting away for life and thankfully was born in March, our little Jacob – all 9lb 11 oz of him.

I next fell pregnant when Jacob was 21 months. We ended up miscarrying again at ten weeks and suffered a further four heart breaking miscarriages over the next year and a half, all of which happened between 9 – 13 weeks gestation. We had all the tests available to me on the NHS and were constantly being told, “There’s nothing wrong with you – keep trying” even though we had now had 6 miscarriages. We were desperate for help and started to research miscarriage ourselves online. This was when we first discovered Mr Shehata’s clinic.

We first met Mr Shehata at his Parkside clinic in May 2009 and had various tests carried out. Over the Summer, he diagnosed a suspected blood disorder and advised us to begin a course of treatment as soon as we conceived. I fell pregnant in that September and went on to have our beautiful daughter – Chloe Daisy – on 1st June the following year.

We truly believe that if we had not found Mr Shehata we would have continued to keep having miscarriages and never had the second baby that we so longed for.

We will always be eternally grateful to him and his team.
